Go deep into the lake and stay at a remote Ranger Outpost to experience one of Thailand’s most tranquil and stunning destinations. This is a trip for those who are willing to “rough it” and forgo comfort for the joys of being in such a remote place.
We can arrange this adventure and wildlife-focused Cheow Lan Lake program as either Full-Day, 2Day 1 Night or 3 Day 2 Night adventure, we always recommend spending the most time on the lake as it will increase your potential to spot some of the pristine wildlife which calls Khao Sok National Park and Cheow Lan Lake home. Raft houses can be arranged as Basic with shared toilets or Superior with private toilet facilities. Please note that only very basic accommodation is available within the Klong Seang Wildlife Sanctuary.
What is the Klong Seang Wildlife Sanctuary?
Klong Seang Wildlife Sanctuary depicts the most remote corners of Cheow Lan Lake and Khao Sok National Park. The Sanctuary is recognized for its immense environmental value and bio-diversity, named after the Cheow Lan Lake feeding Klong Seang River. The 1,155 km2 area is home to some of Thailand and Southeast Asia´s most pristine wildlife, from birds of prey, 16 variants of Hornbills to large Asian Cats, Gaur, and wild Asian Elephants, visitors will be mesmerized by its defining natural beauty and boasting amount of wildlife.
A sample itinerary for a 2 Day 1 Night Wildlife Explorer Adventure to Cheow Lan Lake looks like the following:

09:00 am, meet at the reception area for your transfer to Takun town (1 hour), make a quick stop at a local market to see the exotic fruits and vegetables that line the market aisles and stock up on necessary supplies.
10: 30 am, board your boat at Rachabrapa Dam pier, Explore the lake by local long tail boat (1.5hours), takie in the majestic scenery of striking white limestone cliffs that were once deep sea coral beds. Check-in and enjoy a leisurely lunch of delicious local Thai food at the floating raft house of your choice. There will be time for swimming and kayaking in the beautiful emerald green waters which are clean and warm year round, jump straight from your room right into the emerald water! In the early afternoon, journey with your guide by long tail boat to the remote lake inlets of Klong Saeng Wildlife Sanctuary for wild animal spotting. The Klong Saeng Wildlife Sanctuary is home to an exhaustive number of animals such as elephant, gaur, tapir, serow, sambar deer, clouded leopard, sun bear and the Great Argus. Though some of these live in the deeper regions of the sanctuary, you are likely to see at least some of them during today’s exploration by boat. After an exciting day, enjoy a delicious local Thai meal under the stars at your raft house. Fall asleep to the sound of nature. |

6:00 / 6:30 am Morning Safari Start the day with an early morning safari by boat with your guide. Keep an eye out for Langurs and Macaque monkeys. Morning times are very special at the lake with morning mist and gibbons calls.
Return to your raft house for a simple breakfast and hot drink. You then have the choice to do one of the following: a) stay at the raft house for swimming, kayaking b) Chiewlarn Viewpoint: 2.5-3 hour round trip including a steep hike to a stunning vista c) Bang Hoi waterfall nature trail: 1.5-2 hour round trip including a steep hike up a limestone waterfall (water levels are seasonal) Return back to the pier at around 11:30 pm, transfer to Khao Sok Included, transfer to all other tourism destinations in Southern Thailand can be organised at additional cost. |

IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Cheow Lan Lake is a very remote, adventurous destination. Though located in a
stunning area, accommodation is basic; mattresses on the floor of your bamboo raft house, generator power
available only in the evenings, simply shared washroom facilities. The raft houses facilities are not to the same
standard as Our Jungle Camp.
